When I moved to Midrand 4 years ago, my wife and I had no idea of where to find anything other than the obvious. We found Pick & Pay, Game, Clicks, etc. But what about the other things? She needed a hairdresser (and you know all about a woman and her hairdresser) and travelling back to the West Rand just for that was not on ... although it happened until we discovered the right one on the doorstep. The steel gate on the back door came undone ... it took me 3 weeks to find a Welder! It was the same with a Hire shop, Plumber, Electrician, Toastmasters Club, etc.
Why? ... because there was nowhere to go for an easy answer...and unless it happened to be on the routes I normally drove I didn't know where to start. Mostly I did the only thing I knew how, go back to where I came from and knew where everything was.
This planted the seed for a place where people in a community could find what they needed within their community ... provided of course it was there.
So ... welcome to OINK!! I look forward to your input to make it something really worthwhile, something that solves problems and creates a better place for all of us.
